The High Commissioner hosted students from Cairine Secondary School IDEA club on October 2021 at her residence as part of the activities to mobilize assistance for girl Child in Uganda from Communities in Ottawa, Canada
The High Commissioner, Amb. Joy Ruth Acheng and members of staff participated at the Uganda-Canada Business Expo and Convention in Toronto, Canada from 9th -10th October 2021 at Marriot Hotel. The theme of the Convention was "Building Diaspora Networks" an opportunity for Ugandans living and working in Canada, Uganda and the United States to expand their contacts and promote synergies.
As we approach the deadline for phase out of the Machine-Readable Passports (MRP) on 4th April 2022, the Minisby of Intemal Affairs (Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control), wishes to inform all Ugandans living in the diaspora that after the deadline on 4th April, 2022, MRPs will only be used by citizens returning back to Uganda. They will not be usable to travel to other countries.
